Apple issued a software patch that fixes the installation problem. Someone could conceivably write a malicious program to hijack control of the system. Part of this concern stemmed from the fact that Dashboard widgets initially would install themselves right after being downloaded, without first asking the user to approve the installation. Typically, Macs have been immune to security threats prevalent in the Windows world. To do that, just click an unoccupied section of the desktop, and they're gone as fast as they appeared.
